Biography

Mr. Brann is an International Association of Arson Investigators Certified Fire Investigator, as well as a National Association of Fire Investigators Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. Mr. Brann is a Licensed Private Investigator in various states, as required.  His responsibilities include determining the origin, cause, and spread of fire and explosion incidents.  Mr. Brann has extensive experience in the investigation of thermal events, including, commercial and residential structures, various types of vehicles, including personal vehicles, commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, watercraft, and agricultural and industrial equipment.  In addition, Mr. Brann has specialized knowledge, training, and experience in the investigation of wildland fires and assessing wildland fire impact on structures.

Prior to joining S-E-A, Mr. Brann was employed in the private sector as a Fire Investigator Team Lead in the Denver area for over five years.  Prior to joining the private sector, Mr. Brann spent over 30 years in the career of fire service and began his fire investigations career in 1990, eventually retiring at the rank of Captain.  During his tenure in the fire service, he also served as the Assistant Fire Marshal of a large northern Colorado city in charge of the fire investigations program for nine years.

Mr. Brann is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), as well as the IAAI Colorado State Chapter.  Mr. Brann has provided expert testimony in various jurisdictions.
