Columbus associates Tom Maull, Mechanical Engineer, and Pat Connor, Research Librarian, assisted in the evaluation of scientific method-based research projects at The Ohio Academy of Science’s Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair (BSEF) on April 1. BSEF is a preliminary fair for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) for Ohio high school students whose counties currently do not have a way to qualify for Intel ISEF.
As the projects were created and presented by high school students, Maull and Connor expressed how impressed they both were with the professionalism, presentation skills, college-level research and commitment to science of the students at such a young age. “If you closed your eyes, you would have thought you were listening to professional researchers and scientists,” Connor said.
