Biomechanical/Biomedical

The Biomechanical Engineers of SEA, Ltd. have the education, training and experience to bridge the gap between mechanical engineering and medicine.  Our team members analyze the effects of applied forces and motion on the human body.  Through analysis, simulation and/or testing these engineers can determine the injury mechanisms present during a particular event in order to provide a thorough and scientifically sound injury causation analysis.

Utilizing in-house technologies such as Motion Capture, MADYMO, and ATDs (crash dummies), SEA's Biomechanical Engineers are often called upon to analyze the following types of matters:
  • Soft-tissue injuries ct dummy
  • Repetitive motion injuries
  • Injuries caused by minor collisions
  • Slip/trip and falls
  • Perception/reaction times
  • Occupant/operator safety device effectiveness (helmets, seat belts, airbags, etc.)
  • Seat belt use/non-use
  • Industrial/workplace accident injuries
  • Pedestrian accidents
  • Sports injuries and protective equipment
