Mr. Bayan received his Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from Stanford University and his Bachelor of Science, with special honors in Aerospace Engineering, from the University of Colorado. He specializes in accident reconstruction, simulation and modeling, failure analysis, design and safety of transportation, fluid, and mechanical systems. Vehicular accident reconstruction, including ground transportation, off road equipment, trucks, pedestrian, marine, aviation, and rail equipment. He also has expertise in design analysis, vehicle dynamics and computer simulations, visual perception and conspicuity analysis, photogrammetry and vehicular human factors. Mechanical and fluid experience includes system safety, commercial, construction, agricultural, industrial, heavy equipment and machinery, machine and product design and failure analysis,human locomotion, lighting and fall mechanics.
Mr. Bayan is also involved in large-scale disaster reconstruction and analysis; full-scale vehicular and mechanical testing , computer engineering animations and visualizations. Mr. Bayan is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the SAE Accident Investigation/Reconstruction Practices Standards Committee, Technical Standards and Research Group, the Accident Reconstruction Review Committee, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society (HFES). Mr. Bayan is a voting member of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), serving on several committees, and a Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Mr. Bayan is also published and has provided expert testimony in a court of law.
