Mr. Moss obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Slippery Rock State College in Pennsylvania (an A.C.S.-certified program), and his Master of Business Administration from Capital University (Ohio). Mr. Moss oversees and manages the daily operations of the SEA Corporate Laboratory. Additionally, responsibilities include project management, chemical and microscopic analysis, method selection and development, and coordination of participation in Round Robin proficiency testing. The Corporate Laboratory is responsible for conducting a variety of analyses, including fire debris analysis; environmental sample analysis for metals, organic hydrocarbons, and asbestos; flammable liquid and solvent analysis; automotive fluid analysis; automotive paint chip comparisons; wax composition analysis; fragrance concentration evaluations; product performance evaluations; coatings analysis; identification and characterization of small particles, including soot, natural and synthetic fibers, plastics, polymers, and composites; contamination identification; and moisture analysis.
Mr. Moss is NIOSH Certified for Sampling and Evaluating Airborne Asbestos Dust. He is a member of numerous professional affiliations, including the American Chemical Society (ACS), the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM International). Mr. Moss also participates on several ASTM subcommittees, impacting both the forensic and consumer products industries. He has provided expert testimony in state and federal courts of law.
