Mr. Mulcahy obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Rochester. He is a Senior Fire/Explosion Investigator at SEA, with nearly 40 years of experience. Mark is responsible for the origin and cause investigation of accidental and incendiary residential, commercial, industrial, and motor vehicle fires and explosions. His duties include analysis of the fire/explosion scene, processing of the incident site, analysis of fuel gas systems and equipment, collection and preservation of pertinent evidence, witness interviews, background investigation, coordination of necessary engineering activities, development of site and evidence evaluation protocols, laboratory and in situ analysis of fuel gas system equipment and appliances, and preparation of reports of findings.
Mr. Mulcahy has provided expert testimony in federal, state, and local courts, in both civil and criminal matters, where necessary. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigator (IABTI), and the American Society of Gas Engineers (ASGE).
