Mr. Wijtenburg is a Civil/Structural Project Engineer in S-E-A's Baltimore office. He earned his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and his Master of Civil Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Following the completion of his bachelor’s degree, he gained experience in building construction, bridge design and building design.
His building construction experience includes the installation and fit-out of major capital investments. He has experience with the submittal process, contract procurement, construction scheduling and construction dispute resolution. As a bridge designer, Mr. Wijtenburg's experience includes the design of new bridge structures and inspection of existing bridge structures. He has been involved in traffic barrier studies, plate girder design and bridge structure alignments.
Mr. Wijtenburg's extensive building design experience includes structures of many types. He has designed structures of post-tension concrete, conventional reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber. These materials have been used in structures servicing sectors including residential, commercial office, multifamily residential, healthcare, industrial, mix-use, hospitality and public works. This also includes extensive review of code related issues.
The wide array of Mr. Wijtenburg's experience is key in assisting with weather-related damage assessments, construction defect analyses and construction contract disputes. Mr. Wijtenburg is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and he is a licensed Professional Engineer.
