Mr. Roberts received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boise State University. He is responsible for performing vehicle accident reconstruction (VAR) and investigations of mechanical failures. His VAR experience includes collisions involving single and multiple vehicles, rollovers, tractor-trailers, farm implements, construction equipment, motorcycles, and pedestrians. Mr. Roberts has experience in creating video simulations for multiple types of accidents, and is proficient in HVE accident reconstruction simulation software. He is experienced in imaging “black-box” data from passenger vehicles and heavy trucks. He is a certified crash data retrieval (CDR) technician and analyst, and is proficient with Heavy Vehicle event data recorder (EDR) imaging software. He has completed multiple training courses in accident reconstruction, including courses from Northwestern University and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
He has performed accident and failure analysis related to mechanical systems and components, including heavy equipment, forklifts, truck cranes, pressurized plumbing systems, machinery, and appliances. He has provided testimony in trials and depositions as part of the legal process.
Mr. Roberts is a licensed professional engineer in at least fifteen different states across the Midwest and western United States. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
