Mr. Bainbridge earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering and Technology. He has completed additional graduate-level coursework in electrical engineering power systems through Kansas State University and has extensive training and education pertaining to forensic analyses and fire investigations.
Mr. Bainbridge is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in more than 30 states. He is a Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI®) through the International Association of Arson Investigators, and both a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). Mr. Bainbridge is also 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) certified.
Mr. Bainbridge has conducted well over 1,000 investigations throughout his career. His responsibilities at S-E-A include the investigation of products and systems, particularly those suspected of causing a fire; equipment breakdown or electric shock/electrocution; the evaluation of losses to determine the mode, sequence, and/or component of failure resulting in damage to property or individuals; and the analysis of various types of electrical power equipment (i.e., transformers, circuit breakers, power lines, industrial, commercial, and residential electrical systems, etc.) and appliances/products on-site and/or in a laboratory to determine the cause of an incident. Mr. Bainbridge has also conducted laboratory testing related to the reliability and efficiency of various products.
Mr. Bainbridge is frequently retained nationwide by product manufacturers, attorneys, and insurance companies. He has testified as an expert witness in both depositions and trials in a number of Federal and State Courts.
Mr. Bainbridge’s professional affiliations include the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), the National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute (ACFEI), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
