This organization focuses on training service dogs for wounded veterans, children and adults with disabilities, individuals who are mobility or hearing impaired, and others.
Chris indicated that some organizations charge up to $60,000 for a service dog, but he volunteers for CCI because this organization provides them at no cost to those in need. Volunteers at CCI train the canines for two years, and the ones that pass, roughly 40%, are ultimately given away to individuals at the end of the training process.
One of Chris’s latest graduates, Igor, currently works with no less than 500 children each month and is featured on CCI’s website.
S-E-A recently launched a platform that takes construction risk management, laser-scanning and modeling capabilities, and data consulting services to the next level: our 360° Digital Construction Platform.
Utilizing an integrated suite of sophisticated technology and expertise, S-E-A can provide owners, architects, engineers, contractors and insurance carriers with an accurate and detailed record of construction-related information that far exceeds the data collected by conventional methods.
At every key stage of construction, scanning the site with SEA 360° can facilitate proactive identification and evaluation of construction issues with quick and affordable solutions.
S-E-A had the honor of hosting Make-A-Wish® America on June 6 at the Columbus office, where Josh was granted his wish: a brand new dirt bike.
Josh, a 16-year-old boy with a rare heart condition, grew up working on dirt bikes alongside his father. After he was diagnosed, his wish was to have a dirt bike of his own. S-E-A is proud to support the organization that made Josh’s wish possible, and its mission to help children with cancer.
Betsy Butler, a Columbus librarian and researcher, attended a meeting at S‑E-A on May 23 for the Central Ohio Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology, an organization comprised of librarians and library personnel.
After the meeting, she updated her blog with a well-written entry about her visit to S-E-A:
“‘Seekers of Truth, Finders of Facts,’ proclaimed a sign in the S-E-A headquarters. What a fitting description for the librarians and engineers who roam Buffalo Parkway on their way to and from work.”
We are pleased to announce that S-E-A has launched a new version of our external website!
This redesigned format segments our services into three overarching categories: Forensics & Imaging Sciences, Vehicle Testing & Safety, and Consumer Product Testing. We hope this structure will allow our clients to more easily access the information they are seeking.
Columbus associates Tom Maull, Mechanical Engineer, and Pat Connor, Research Librarian, assisted in the evaluation of scientific method-based research projects at The Ohio Academy of Science's Buckeye Science and Engineering Fair (BSEF) on April 1. BSEF is a preliminary fair for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) for Ohio high school students whose counties currently do not have a way to qualify for Intel ISEF.
As the projects were created and presented by high school students, Maull and Connor expressed how impressed they both were with the professionalism, presentation skills, college-level research and commitment to science of the students at such a young age. “If you closed your eyes, you would have thought you were listening to professional researchers and scientists,” Connor said.
