Premises Liability Evaluations
At SEA, a thorough investigation of premises liability matters may involve civil engineers, mechanical engineers and/or architects. Accidents of this nature can occur in all types of environments, including residential, commercial and industrial settings. The SEA team can inspect and evaluate the following types of cases:
Trip and fall cases involving stairways, ramps, curbs, etc.
Issues involving illumination levels and hazard perception both inside and outside buildings.
Slip and fall cases, involving determination of friction coefficients and/or slip resistance measurements for a wide range of walking surfaces.
Slip and fall accidents involving determination of the slip resistance of bathtubs or showers, and/or evaluation of grab rails, shower seats, etc.
Drainage analyses in slip and fall cases involving ice/snow accumulations.
Vehicle/pedestrian conflicts, in both retail and commercial/industrial settings.
Compliance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and building code egress requirements.
Tip-over accidents (display cases, vending machines, furniture, etc.)
Falls over guardrails or from windows.
Laceration injuries from impact with glass in doors or windows or glass furnishings.
Fall or pinch injuries associated with door swing path, automatic door closers, or automatic door operators.
If a report is required, any technical issues will be clearly addressed by SEA so that the client will know why the accident happened, what standards or regulations are applicable, and if any violations occurred.
